Read before taking the test

IMPORTANT PRE-COLLECTION INFORMATION
URINE TESTS

Please read the following information carefully before collecting your urine sample.
• Follow any test-specific instructions provided with your test kit, as preparation requirements may vary depending on the type of urine test.
• Unless otherwise stated in your test-specific instructions, avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine intake for 24–48 hours prior to sample collection.
• Do not collect a urine sample while menstruating, as this may contaminate the sample. Wait until menstruation has ended before collecting.
• If you are experiencing symptoms of a urinary tract infection, delay sample collection until treatment has been completed and wait at least 5 days before collecting your sample.
• Collect the urine sample according to the instructions provided in your test kit. For many urine tests, the sample should be collected first thing in the morning, before eating or drinking, unless otherwise stated.
• Avoid touching the inside of the collection cup, tube, or lid to prevent contamination.
• Make sure the sample is properly sealed and labelled before returning it according to the instructions.

Register your kit before proceeding!

Prepare the Monovette

Carefully lift off the yellow stopper and keep it for later. Attach the yellow aspiration tip to the Monovette.

Fill the Monovette

Insert the aspiration tip into the urine sample and fill the Monovette up to the marked fill line.

Lock the Piston

Hold the Monovette upright and pull the piston downward until it locks into the base.

Seal the Sample

Remove the aspiration tip, replace the yellow stopper, and snap off the piston rod. Discard the piston rod.

Send Sample To Lab

Place the transport tube into the biohazard bag with the absorbent pad, then seal the bag.

Enclose the biohazard bag within the box, and place it into the return shipping envelope.

Ship the specimen in the provided bag to the lab. Cold pack not required.
