    Wash Hands

    Wash your hands in warm water and massage your hand to increse blood flow. Dry your hands.

     

    Shake your hands to get the blood flowing.

    Note: Doing a blood test without stimulating blood circulation might prove difficult, so please do not skip this step!

    Rotate the protective cover on the blood lancet to remove it.

    Disinfect Finger

    Disinfect your “test finger” with the supplied disinfectant paper. Wait a few seconds until the finger is completely dry.

    Prick FInger

    Place your hand on a flat surface. Put the lancet diagonally toward the test finger and press down the button. Make sure the lancet is pressed against the finger the whole time.

    Stimulate Blood Flow

    We recommend that you stand up at this stage to let the blood in your arm flow downward. Help the blood drops come out by massaging the finger toward the needle stick.

    Collect Sample

    Without squeezing the capillary dropper bulb, put it in contact with the blood. The blood migrates into the capillary dropper.

    Apply To Cassette

    Add the blood collected into the sample well of the casette, by squeezing the the bulp.

    Apply Buffer

    Add 1 drop of buffer into the sample swell casette.

    Read Results

    Wait for the colored line(s) to appear.

    Read results at 5 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes.

    Normal Result

    Two colored lines appear. Both T (Test) and C (Control) line appear.

    This result means that the Ferritin concentration in blood is normal and that there is no potential iron deficiency. Even a faint line means values are normal.

    One colored line appears. Only control line(C) appears.

    This result means that the ferritin concentration in blood is too low. You should consult physician because it may be an iron deficiency.

    No colored C band appears, regardless of whether the T band is visible.

    nsufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural techniques are the most likely reasons for control line failure. A retest is recommended.
