Step 1
Fill out the collection tube with your name, today’s date,and the time of your collection.
Step 2
Twist off the cap to open the tube.
Step 3
Hold the tube up to your lips, and purse your lips to gently guide saliva into the opening of the tube.
Step 4
Keep adding saliva until you’ve reached the fill line. There will be bubbles. These do not count.
Step 5
Tightly recap the collectiontube and place it into the barcoded biohazard bag.
Repeat these three steps for each of the other time points:
• After 30 minutes
• After 60 minutes
• At noon (around 12:00 PM)
• In the evening (around 5:00–6:00 PM)
• At night (around 10:00–11:00 PM, before bedtime)
Step 6
Place it into the barcoded biohazard bag.
Note: Do not eat, drink (including water), or exercise 30 min before collecting saliva. This may dilute, contaminate, or decrease the accuracy of your sample.
Return
Place the barcoded biohazard bag into the prepaid return mailer. Mail the following day.
