Create account
Before you start, you need to create an account (Click Sign up)
and register your test. Your test kit contains a sticker with your
unique test ID. Create account and register your test ID at

Place the collection card
Place the collection card on a clean, dry, flat surface.
Write your name, date of birth and date of sample
collection where indicated in blue or black pen.

Wash your hands with warm water
Wash your hands with warm water for 30 seconds. Let dry. Stand up and shake hands vigorously for 15 seconds.
Unwrap gauze dressing and bandage and set aside.

Open the alcohol pad
Openthe alcohol pad and clean the finger tip of your middle or ring finger on your non-dominant hand. Air dry for 10 seconds.

Make sure you are standing up
Make sure you are standing up.
Remove the cap of the lancet by twisting and pulling.
Make sure the “BD” on the white end of the lancet is right side up.
Place the tip of the lancet slightly off center against the
bottom pad of your finger.
Firmly press down until you hear a click, then release after 1-2 seconds.

Stay standing
Stay standing and let the first drop of blood fall onto the gauze.
Do not touch your finger to the gauze.

Stretch your arm down
Stretch your arm down and squeezey our finger to drop 4 -6 large drops
of blood onto the left s quare of the card.
Tip: You may find squeezing your finger from the base to the lip helps
blood to flow. It is best to stay standing while collecting the sample.
Note: Do not let your finger touch the collection card!

If red whole blood does not pass
If red whole blood does not pass the first line, the lab will not be able to analyz e your sample.
If you are not able to fill the card with one prick, repeat steps 5- 9 and give another finger a prick with a new lancet.
Each lancet is single-use.

Once the card
Once the card (s) is full, apply the bandage and pressure.
IMPORTANT:
Allow blood collection paper to air dry on flat surface for at least 60 minutes.
Do not heat, blow dry or expose to direct sunlight as this will damage the sample.

Note: DO NOT add additional blood once the sample is completed and dry. The “layering” of the blood will invalidate the collection.

After 60 minutes
After 60 minutes, tear open the blood sample return bag (s).
Place the collection card inside the bag(s) and seal.
Note: Do not remove any of the contents inside.

Place all sealed return bag (s)
Place all sealed return bag (s) into the cardboard box and close securely.
Place the box inside the return envelope and seal.

Return before the last pickup
Return before the last pickup of the day at any USPS access point, store or dropbox, or schedule a pickup at imh.to/schedule-usps
